电力信息物理系统（Cyber Physical Power System，CPPS）中，信息流是电力系统能量流闭环链中必不可少的链接，电力系统保护与控制为信息-能量耦合的中间件。依托国家自然科学基金面上项目《CPPS架构下保护控制系统信息流建模与可靠性研究》，基于信息系统物理化构想，将信息流融入能量流的分析体系，取得的成果发表于《中国电机工程学报》（智能电网信息流的建模和静态计算方法研究，2016年）和《IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid》（Reliability Analyses of Wide-Area Protection System Considering Cyber-Physical System Constraints，2021年；Reliability Modeling and Assessment of Cyber Space in Cyber-Physical Power Systems，2020年；Reliability Evaluation of Communication-Constrained Protection Systems using Stochastic-flow Network Models，2018年）。同时借助仿真手段研究物理与信息实体的相互作用及运行特性，由此申请了一系列的发明专利。
