Professor Xiaoqing Lin obtained his BEng from Wuhan Polytechnic University in 2008, PhD from Nanjing Tech University in 2013. He joined Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion (GIEC), Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) as an Assistant Research Fellow in 2013, and was promoted to Associate Research Fellow in 2015. He moved to the School of Chemical Engineering and Light Industry, Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT) as an Associate Professor in 2017, promoted to Full Professor in 2021. Professor Lin currently serves as Assistant Dean of the School of Light Industry and Chemical Engineering and Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Plant Resources Biorefining. He was a visiting scholar at the USDA-ARS National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research (NCAUR) and previously held positions as Chairman of the Labor Union for the School of Light Industry and Chemical Engineering and the inaugural Head of the Department of Energy Chemical Engineering.
Professor Lin has nearly 17 years of working experiences of research and development on biorefineries and downstream processing related projects. With broad interdisciplinary research interests, his primary focus areas include: 1) Separation processes in biorefineries; 2) Adsorption technology; 3) Deep eutectic solvents mediated extraction technology; 4) Process simulation and control; and 5) Biomass chemical engineering. He has published over 70 peer reviewed journal papers including articles in AIChE Journal, Chemical Engineering Science, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, Chemical Engineering Journal, Separation and Purification Technology, and Green Chemistry. He has also worked in more than 10 research projects as Principal investigator (PI). He holds more than 40 authorized innovative patents, including 3 US patents. He is now a Youth Member of the Fine Chemicals Professional Committee and the Biochemical Engineering Professional Committee of the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC). He is Editor, Separation and Purification Technology; Associate Editor, World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology; Youth Editorial Board Member, Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering; Editorial Board Member and Guest Editor, Fermentation; the 9th Editorial Committee, Chemistry and Industry of Forest Products 《林产化学与工业》; Youth Editorial Board Member, Fine Chemicals《精细化工》.
He was given Awards of Pearl River Science and Technology Rising Star, the Distinguished Young Scientist award at ISPT2022, 2024 Best Youth Editorial Committee Member for Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering, Outstanding Reviewer for Journal of Cleaner Production, excellent performance in the GDUT's Young Talents Program A tenure review, first prize for teaching excellence at GDUT, outstanding class advisor at GDUT, and being continuously recognized as an outstanding postgraduate supervisor at GDUT for five years (2020-2024).
