Jianwen Huang is an associate Professor of School of Architecture and Urban Planning in Guangdong University of Technology, Deputy Director of Institute of Heritage Conservation and Urban Renewal, Master Supervisor, Doctor of Architecture Design and Theory, Master of Architecture. He focuses on urban public space, especially the micro-scale urban design in old town renewal. And he had participated in urban design and old town renewal projects of different types in Guangzhou, Xuzhou, Foshan, Jieyang, Chengde and other domestic cities. On this background he wrote the book “Integration and Making of the Public Space in the Historic Urban Areas Redevelopment”, and published many papers in core journals, such as "Architectural Journal", "Planners" and "Urban Development Studies". Furthermore, he had presided over the project "Study on the suitability of building density of community markets in old town renewal in Lingnan region", one of the" National Natural Science Fund Projects ". At the present stage, his main research content is to carry out multi-dimensional analysis on the micro-scale urban design and explore the methods and approaches of using digital technology to assist the urban design practice.
