Xiao Dongliang, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT) under the "Youth Hundred Talents Program", and an A-level talent. His research areas include power system and power market operation, renewable energy and smart grid, energy economy and risk management. He received the PhD degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in electrical engineering. He has served as research assistant at Power and Energy Systems Lab at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, an intern researcher at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories in the United States, and a research associate at the School of Electric Power, South China University of Technology. In the past five years, he has published more than 40 papers in  academic journals and international conferences in the field of electric power and energy, and has been the principal investigators of research projects funded by the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and the Guangdong Provincial 14th Five-Year Plan (GD FYP) for young people in Philosophy and Social Sciences.

He is also an Associate Editor of the JCR Q1 journal Protection and Control of Modern Power Systems, Youth Editorial Board member of Energy Engineering, Sustainable and Renewable Energy, and Youth Editorial Board member of four Chinese EI/core journals in the field of electric power and energy. He is the local organizing committee chair of the 12th International Conference on Power and Energy Systems (ICPES 2022), the session chairs of the 7th International Conference on Renewable Energy and Conservation (ICREC 2022) and 2022 3rd International Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering (ICPEE 2022). He received the Best Paper Award of IEEE EIT 2021, and recognized as the Distinguished Reviewer of the international conference CFEEE 2022 and the Outstanding Contribution Reviewer of the journal Power Construction in 2023.
