Faculty Profile

Distinguished Professor of the "Hundred Talents Program" and Doctoral Supervisor at Guangdong University of Technology, recipient of the Guangdong Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund. He/She previously conducted postdoctoral research at the National University of Singapore and obtained a PhD in Management Science from City University of Hong Kong.

He/She has long focused on the research of modeling and solution algorithms for optimization problems in discrete manufacturing processes. He/She has constructed a general algorithm solution framework and a series of domain-specific intelligent algorithms, which systematically cover two major systems: exact solution algorithms and human-simulated/object-simulated intelligent optimization algorithms. His/Her research directions include bin packing optimization, nesting and cutting optimization, vehicle routing scheduling, production scheduling, and integrated circuit (IC) placement and routing optimization.

In terms of academic achievements, he/she has published more than 50 SCI-indexed papers (including 16 as the first author and 24 as the corresponding author). These papers have been published in a number of authoritative journals in relevant fields, such as the UTD-listed journal Informs Journal on Computing (IJOC), the top journal in the transportation field Transportation Research Part B (TRB), the top journal in the artificial intelligence field IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine (IEEE CIM), the top journal in the IC design field IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems (TCAD), and top journals in the operations research field European Journal of Operational Research (EJOR), Computers & Operations Research (COR), and Omega. According to Google Scholar, his/her papers have been cited more than 2,000 times, with an h-index of 25 and a maximum of over 300 citations for a single paper.

In terms of research projects and achievement transformation, he/she has presided over 1 project of the National Key R&D Program, 1 project of the Guangdong Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund, 2 General Program projects and 1 Youth Program project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 3 provincial and ministerial-level projects, and has undertaken more than 10 horizontal projects with enterprises. He/She also holds more than 50 authorized invention patents and has published 2 academic monographs.
