Dr. Luan Hemi, Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering in Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT). His research focuses on the technological development and translational application of life omics and informatics in the complex environment–health nexus. In recent years, we have been dedicated to identifying toxicity-related molecules from environmental exposures and exploring their health risk mechanisms, while actively promoting the integration of advanced mass spectrometry techniques with artificial intelligence. Our team has established a high-resolution mass spectrometry-based multi-omics platform and developed data processing algorithms and software tools. These efforts have led to the identification of a range of endogenous and exogenous chemical exposure molecules and metabolites associated with human health risks, as well as their protein targets, yielding a number of original findings. Within this framework, the team has expanded several research directions, including:

• Mass spectrometry technology and spatiotemporal dynamics of molecules

• Environmental behavior of emerging contaminants and health risk intervention

• AI–mass spectrometry multi-omics-enabled investigation of metabolic mechanisms in complex diseases and their translational applications
